Veteran's Day Card

PPPR is having a holiday contest....cards or other things made for any holiday.  I made one for Veteran's Day:  I used the sentiment from the cut file, but didn't use the rest of the cut file for it because I'm having troubles with doing cardstock that small and running out of cardstock.

Says:  We Salute You

I'm hoping I can get a few more cards made for this contest to ensure a better chance at winning.  It closes on Dec. 5th.

I Won!!

I won the contest at pretty paper pretty ribbons blog!  It was a random choice, and I had 3 entries our of 6 or 7, so odds were good.  I will get a $20 gift certificate to the store!!!  This is fun!  Now to decide what to spend on.....I want it all LOL!

By the way, I'm healing up.  The swelling went down and I was yellow for a time beccause of bruises, but now the bruises are healing, and I'm looking more like myself. This was also the 2nd week of the Gotta Pixel Master Scrapper Challenge....and boy was it a challenge!  We had to use eight papers, and ten types of extras....can't remember what they are called at the moment.  I am more of a minimalist....so it was very hard for me, plus I am still healing from surgery.  This was my 2nd entry, out of 4 total:

Surgery

Ok so yesterday I had major surgery.  I had a bone & gum graft to my upper jaw.  Don't read on if you don't want to hear yucky stuff.  They cracked open my upper jaw to insert some more bone and cut gum from the inner part to put it on the outer part to support my jaw for another surgery coming up in about 6 months.  Then they will insert implants so I can have teeth that are just like regular teeth, except they don't die and fall out!!!  Here is the back story....My old orthodontist moved my teeth too fast and got too close to the bone and it killed the roots to my two front teeth!  a couple of years later, my teeth started to get loose, so the dentist pulled them out for me.  So for 2 years I had to get ready for my surgery (that I just had).  I had some trouble with getting my A1C down because of other medication that I take....and I absolutely have to take it,  so I ended up taking daily shots and medication to lower my blood sugar levels because I am diabetic.  Anyway, I finally got it down and was able to have the surgery for my teeth.  There will be another surgery to follow in 6 months and I am down for a couple of weeks. I will still be designing for gottapixel's contest, but everything else will stop.  I am doing fine, they said the surgery went well and a bled very little.  I haven't had much pain because I take the pain pills on time and don't let it get painful.  I am very puffy in the upper lip & cheek area.  Yes, I look like a chipmunk. We will take pics to scrap about it!  My scrap line could be Chipmunk Cheeks: my surgery.  I'm seeing the layout already......
